Yehuda Armoni was born in Jerusalem in 1953. He descends from the Castel family, which arrived in Israel in the exile from Spain more than 500 years ago. His great uncle is the famous painter Moshe Castel.

Yehuda discovered passion and talent for painting as a child, however, due to his commitment to profession and the related time constraints, was never able to pursue painting as an avocation. Since the end of 2001, Armoni has dedicated his time exclusively to the study of painting and to creating his own work. He studied under a number of artists for several years, and completed his studies graduating the master’s class of Israel Hershberg at The JSS (The Jerusalem Studio School) in 2013.

Yehuda is a landscape, plein-air, painter. He specializes in premier coup painting done using direct observation. He tends to complete a painting in one sitting. He must paint quickly, because the sun and the clouds move all the time and the painting motif may change every moment.

Armoni had his first commercial solo exhibition in 2006, and has since exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in various galleries and museums in Israel Since 2017 he is an artist of The Rothschild Fine Art Gallery in Tel Aviv.
